Porous vs Non-Porous Rubber Surfaces

Porous Rubber Surfacing (Drain-Through Systems)
Our porous rubber surfacing is an open-graded, drain-through system. It’s engineered so that water passes through the rubber layer and into the base below. In order to have a porous system, you will need to have somewhere for the water to drain once it flows through the flooring - i.e., a drain or a sloped base that drains away from your structure.
Typical characteristics:
Water drains vertically through the surface
Excellent for trailers, walking paths, barns with drains or sloped concrete
Helps reduce standing water after rain, preventing slips, falls and injuries
Reduces order in trailers
Textured surface for traction
Porous systems are ideal when you want water to move through the surface rather than stay on top of it.
SurfaceGuard™ Non-Porous Rubber Flooring
SurfaceGuard™ is our poured-in-place non-porous rubber flooring system. Instead of allowing water to drain through, SurfaceGuard™ provides an impermeable, sealed wear layer that keeps liquids on the surface for controlled drainage and wash-down cleaning.
